Oh yes! High season for beer is here. I like to break out all the special stuff for the festivals, especially this one. We sadly and fondly miss Greg Noonan, brewing pioneer of Vermont. 2010 Vermont Brewers Festival -- Lawson's Finest Liquids


Local Potion – Our 2010 VBF Collaboration brew with Destiny Saxon of Zero Gravity brewery at American Flatbread Burlington is a Vermont Maple Ale. Our localvore-style ale is brewed with a ‘New Englander’ malted barley grown by Maine’s Potato Growers, with 100% Vermont-grown Cascade hops, a healthy addition of pure Vermont Maple Syrup from Purinton Farm in Huntington, and ZG house ale yeast. A small portion of the grist was house-smoked with Dave Rooke over apple wood, creating a subtle hint of smoky aroma and flavor. ~5.3% abv

Noonan’s Tribute – A cask of Local Potion, dry-tipped and naturally carbonated in the firkin with one of Greg’s favorite Vermont ingredients, spring tips of the Red Spruce (Picea rubens) tree! - Tapped at SESSION 2 until it’s gone. ~5.3% abv

Weiss-K Wheat Bier – A German style hefeweizen that is best when served up fresh and ‘mit hefe’ (with yeast). A delightfully refreshing ale with a delicate fruity aroma and a mild spicy flavor from our special Bavarian wheat yeast. ~5.4% abv

Chinooker’d IPA - Our award-winning American-style India Pale Ale recipe is chockfull of Chinook hops and bursting with pine and citrus aromas and flavors. This hop-bomb is flavorful and bold with a dry finish. ~6.9% abv

Maple on Brett – A wild Vermont maple ale! Our Maple Nipple Ale base recipe fermented with Brettanomyces bruxellensis wild yeast, imparting a savory twang and sour, horse blanket-like character. 8.8% abv

Maple-barrel aged Fayston Maple Imperial Stout - Brewed with over two gallons of Maple Syrup per bbl and loaded with roasted barley and black patent malts. This beer is then carefully aged in Saxton River Distillery’s Sapling Maple Liquor barrels made of American Oak. ~ 11% abv – SESSION 1 ONLY

Bourbon-barrel aged Fayston Maple Imperial Stout – Brewed with over two gallons of Maple Syrup per bbl and loaded with roasted barley and black patent malts. This beer is then carefully aged in Maker’s Mark bourbon barrels made of American Oak. ~ 11% abv – SESSION 2 ONLY

Vanilla Espresso Woodchuck Stout – A hearty American-style stout brewed with flaked barley and oats, then infused with fresh Green Mountain Coffee Roasters’ espresso and vanilla beans. ~5% abv – SESSION 3 ONLY
