2010 National IPA Championship

Lawson's Finest Liquids is pleased to participate in the 3rd Annual National IPA Championship held by Brewing News! This head-to-head competition pits the best India Pale Ales from around the country in a round robin style tournament to crown the champ. 128 entries started the competition two weeks ago, and now 32 remain - including our own Chinooker'd IPA! In the first round, the Chinooker'd knocked off the esteemed Rouge Brewery's Brutal Bitter, and in the second round we won out against a smaller brewery out of Washington - Black Raven Brewing's Trickster IPA. You can check out all the match-ups at www.brewingnews.com/nipac, where you can also follow our progress, and even print out a hoops-style bracket for the beer world's version of March Madness!

BREWING UPDATES
The President's week holiday brought many visitors, skiers, riders, and beer lovers to the Mad River Valley! As a result, Lawson's supply took a heavy hit and unfortunately, we ran out of beer at several establishments this past weekend. Thanks for your understanding in that we have a tiny brewery and the demand for our local, hand-made beers is very high! My apologies if you went looking and didn't find any at your favorite spot. The good news is that I've been brewing like mad the last several weeks to get some extra batches going.
This coming weekend, you'll be able to pick up bottles of the freshest batch of Paradise Ale, my new amber ale that is packed with juicy hop flavors and a crisp malt profile. I also will be debuting soon our newest offering - a special one-time batch called Honey I Love You Ale! It was brewed with over 15 pounds of Vermont honey per barrel and fermented with a Kolsch style yeast. It has a sweet finish with bountiful honey flavors!
Here's what's on tap around town:
Pitcher Inn Tracks Pub, Warren - Crooked Cabin Brown Ale
Mad River Glen, Fayston - Fayston Maple Imperial Stout, followed by Hopzilla Double IPA
Common Man, Warren - Paradise Ale (Thurs, 2/25)
American Flatbread, Waitsfield - Paradise Ale and/or Honey I Love You Ale
Warren Store - Whateveryoucanfindifthereisanyleftinbottles Ale! Yes, its hard to keep the shelves stocked at the Warren Store, but thankfully, they are rarely empty for more than a day. As such its difficult to predict what you might find there. In the near future, you might find the Paradise Ale, Honey I Love You Ale, and perhaps next week a delivery of the Hopzilla Double IPA. Call ahead to 496-3864 if you want to make sure they have some in stock before you trek to Warren.
SAVE THE DATE!
To wrap up this post, let me leave you with a couple of dates to take note of for March.
March 6 - Lawson's Finest at the Montpelier Farmer's Market from 10am - 2pm
March 17 - Lawson's Finest 2nd Anniversary Party with live music from Sugar Shack and special guests at Mad River Glen - Stark's Pub!
Cheers! - Sean
