Waitsfield Farmers Market FINALE! Oct. 6th
Well folks, SIPtemberfest was a blast and a resounding success! Thanks to all of you who came out to Mad River Glen for our inaugural "Meet the Brewer" dinner on Friday night with Otter Creek/Wolaver's brewmaster Mike Gerheart and Lawson's Finest brewer Sean Lawson. The food and beer pairings were nothing short of amazing! Saturdays sold-out festival event was splendid as well. To top it off, we tapped a cask of Triple Play IPA at the Hostel Tevere after-party on Saturday. Here's a photo of our SIP brewers, partners, and master event organizer Megan Schultz having a blast at the hostel. Thanks again to all.
Looking ahead to this weekend, we have our final Farmer's Market outdoors for the season in Waitsfield. We have another wonderful array of bottled offerings, more than you will ever find on the store shelf at one time!
You can look forward to the return of our infamous Maple Nipple Ale! That's right, brewed with over a gallon and half of local Vermont Maple Syrup per barrel (31 gallons) this rich american ale (8% abv) has just the right amount of sweetness and maple flavor to savor. Just a note on pricing - you'll find the price on Maple Nipple to be higher than it used to be (last time it was brewed was over a year ago!) Due to the high cost of maple syrup, this drives the pricing up on both the stout and Maple Nipple.
To add to the excitement, we are holding the initial release of this year's bottling of the Bourbon Barrel Aged Fayston Maple Imperial Stout! Brewed in the spring of 2011 (on my former 1bbl system), this beauty was laid up in a single oak barrel for over a year that previously held Utopias and Knob Creek! We are moving to a new format for our barrel-aged stouts to make them easier on the wallet and easier to open with just a friend or two...or even just you! Hope to see you this Saturday, from 9am to 1pm. For directions visit www.waitsfieldfarmersmarket.com.
Bourbon Barrel Aged Fayston Maple Imperial Stout (11% abv) - $15/375ml
Fayston Maple Imperial Stout (10% abv) - $15/750ml
Triple Play IPA (7% abv) - $9/22oz
Maple Nipple Ale (8% abv) - $9/22oz
As usual, we will have a 4 bottle limit/per variety/per person, however, we will likely offer a higher limit on the smaller bottles of barrel-aged stout. And finally, I hope to have one surprise addition to the line up. Please do not email to ask what it is going to be. If its there...its there! (and I will add a post on Friday to that extent).
