OCB/LFL Double Dose IPA - On the way!

Yes indeed friends, an ode to hops is brewed! Mike Gerhart of Otter Creek Brewing and I brewed up the new Double Dose IPA on Friday, August 30 along with a crew of hard working OCB brewers and staff. This exciting project was more than a year in planning and includes a fusion of both breweries - a blend of both of our house ale yeasts, water from Warren and Middlebury, local barley malted by Valley Malt in Hadley, MA, and of course....a double dose of hops including an addition of freshly harvested Vermont grown hops - thanks to UVM and our local hop growers! The beer will be released on September 21 at a special event at Otter Creek in Middlebury. More details and a full story to follow, but you can see pictures and more info on the OCB facebook page. Waitsfield Farmers Market - Sept. 21st

Our next market date is Saturday, 9/21 in Waitsfield (click link above for directions). Our bottle limit will be 4 bottles per variety, per person. We'll have our deli-style ticketing system in place for early arrivals. Starting at 8am we'll start handing out numbered tickets so that you can shop the rest of the market at your leisure or grab a breakfast and return a bit later. However, you don't typically need to arrive this early to have a good selection of beer, and at last several markets, we had at least two varieties available until the end of the market. Sales and sample tasting start at 9am and the market ends at 1pm. The tentative beer list is as follows:

Warren Store Maple Wheat Ale (4.2%) - $7/22oz

Steve's Backyard Red Ale (5.5%) - $7/22oz

Chinooker'd IPA (6.9%) - $8/22oz

Big Hoppy Black IPA (7.5%) - $9/22oz

Kiwi Double IPA (8.1%) - $9/22oz

2012 Maple Tripple Ale (12%) - $25/500ml
